SOTO is thrilled to have had the opportunity to recently support the Lions Club of Figtree Charity Golf Day by way of heartfelt donation. The 4th Annual Charity Golf Day was organised to raise funds for the Kids Fund of The Disability Trust. As an organisation that values community and enjoys getting behind good causes, the event presented a wonderful opportunity for SOTO to get involved.
The Charity Golf Day took place on Monday 14th May at the scenic Calderwood Valley Golf Course where golfers from throughout the Illawarra region came together with the goal of raising $10,000 to provide equipment for children living with disabilities through Kids Fund. The Fund is an Illawarra-based charity managed by The Disability Trust which works hard to purchase and allocate $100,000 worth of aids and equipment for children with special needs each year. This equipment includes walkers, orthotics, communicators, hoists, wheelchairs and seating systems, all of which help to increase levels of community inclusion and general independence for the children. As the Kids Fund does not receive government funding, it relies entirely on community support to fund its meaningful work, which makes events like the Charity Golf Day so important.
The 4th Annual Lions Club of Figtree Charity Golf Day was organised and seamlessly executed by passionate Lions Club ladies with assistance from Kids Fund volunteers. The event was a roaring success, raising over $7,000 for the Kids Fund. The Lions Club supplemented this effort with a generous $10,000 donation to the Kids Fund for a third consecutive year. SOTO Consulting Engineers is so pleased to have contributed to this tremendous community effort, and looks forward to supporting upcoming instalments.
